Iqama renewal
Residence permit renewal. Typical base fee about SAR 650 a year, and the employer usually pays it. Always confirm the live amount.
Work permit levy: often about SAR 700–800 a month, tier dependent, and commonly an employer cost.

Arabic coffee, dates and a real welcome are not a brochure line. Guests are fed first. If you are invited, accept the cup, and do not rush the room.
Traditional clothing
The thobe and the abaya are everyday elegance, with cuts that change by region. Visitors should dress modestly in public. When in doubt, cover more rather than less.
Saudi coffee and dates
Gahwa with cardamom, poured from a dallah and set beside dates, is a ritual of welcome. A gentle tilt of the cup is the polite stop.

The table’s default: spiced rice with meat, nuts and dried fruit.

Tented camps and dune lodges. Confirm transfers, meals and heating before a third party marks the price up.
City hotels
Stay near the Corniche in Jeddah, the centre in Riyadh, or the waterfront in Khobar if you want to walk at night.

How do I get a Saudi tourist visa?
If your passport is eligible, apply for the tourist eVisa on visa.visitsaudi.com. It is normally valid for one year and allows a stay of up to 90 days. Pay on that official page, not to a stranger. Read the tourist visa note.
What is a Saudi exit re-entry visa?
It is the permission a resident needs to leave and come back on the same iqama. People commonly see about SAR 200 for a single visa and about SAR 500 for a multiple. The amount on Absher is the one you pay. Read the exit re-entry note.
How much is a Saudi family visit visa?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists this service at SAR 379. A citizen or a legal resident invites a relative. The stay is the date printed on the visa. Read the family visit note.
When is the best time to visit Saudi Arabia?
October to April is the season for walking in Riyadh, AlUla and the desert. Summer in the interior is a different kind of trip. Read the season note.
Blog and tips
Field notes, not listicles.
Visit Saudi says a tourist does not need a hijab, and should still cover shoulders and legs. A mosque is a different door from a mall.
Banks, the national address and Absher all send you to Nafath. The number on the site has to match the phone in your hand.
A salary needs a local IBAN. The branch will not invent the residency, the number, or the national address you skipped.
Banks and couriers want the Saudi Post short code for the door you actually sleep behind. Register it after the lease, not from the hotel.
Once the iqama is in your hand, put a line in that name at STC, Mobily or Zain. Do not buy one from a car park.
A new resident needs an hour and a SIM in his own name. He does not need a man who wants the one-time code.
Do not sign a year of rent on night two. Sleep in the neighbourhood once. Register the address after the bed is real.
Unpaid fines commonly stop a renewal and can stall an exit visa. Read the list on Absher. Do not pay a shop to erase it.
The Foreign Ministry page lists the service at SAR 379. The stay is the date printed on the visa, not a number from a group chat.
Absher traffic issues the licence. A home licence in a drawer is not a Saudi licence. Do not hand a school your Absher password.
Riyadh and AlUla are a cool-season trip. Jeddah can take an evening later in the year. Ramadan and Hajj are not ordinary weeks.
Eligible passports apply on visa.visitsaudi.com. One year on the visa, up to 90 days in the country, six months left on the passport. The price is the number on that official screen.
Residents need this before a flight home. About SAR 200 single and SAR 500 multiple are the figures people see. Absher’s screen is the one that counts.
Rent is the budget. A shared room, a one-bedroom and a family flat are three different cities. The levy is not included in the rent.
Do not plan a Friday like a Tuesday. Eat early, stay in one neighbourhood, and give the evening to Diriyah or a boulevard — not to three errands and a mall.
The old city is the reason to walk. The water is the reason to stay. Pick that order and leave Makkah off this same night.
Leave in the morning, carry water, and come back while you can still see the track. The view does not need you standing on the edge.
Hegra is the reason most people fly. Go when it opens: the light is lower and the coaches have not stacked up. Tickets belong on the official AlUla channels, not a social-media reseller.
Old Town is a different appointment — restored mud-brick streets and a better evening than morning. Give the place two nights if you can. October to April is the comfortable window.
Iqama renewal happens on Absher. KSA GUIDE does not log in, does not pay, and does not see your record.
